About
My name is Vivian Harris and I am a teacher-librarian living in Bega. Initially trained as a veterinary surgeon specialising in pathology I detoured into being a stay at home mother to five children. I retrained as a teacher and while working for 6 years in a small rural primary school, undertook a Masters of Education in Teacher Librarianship.
I lived in the Macleay Valley for 15 years before moving to Canberra.
However the teacher librarian urge to find resources, curate them and share them with people who need them is strong.
My aim with this website is to encourage teachers to use the great outdoor classroom that is the Macleay Valley to provide authentic learning opportunities for their students.
I hope that it will be useful for the time poor early career teacher, the newcomer to the area, and the experienced teacher looking for new ideas.
